Q: Why the organization is named “Shri Karani Nagar Vikas Samiti” ?
A:The name Shri Karani Nagar Vikas Samiti, conveys that this is the name of an organization meant for developing a “Nagar” or a cluster of city. This is true as in its initial stage the “Samiti” was framed by a group of social workers to develop the living standards of a slum, situated around the building of present registered office of Shri Karani Nagar Vikas Samiti. This building was donated to “Samiti” by Smt. Nagendra Bala, ex-member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and ex-chairperson of Rajasthan State Social Welfare Board. “Samiti” by its effort brought improvement in living standards of backward community ‘Mogya’ and ‘Bagari’ living around this building and earning their bread by weaving brooms with khajoor leaf and lived in utter poor conditions, where no education was available to the children, men were addicted to alcohol and other evils. Further, this organization was registered under the societies Act of Government of Rajasthan and continues under the same name with various Social activities under its banner.
Now this building is named as “Mamata”,where

- Family Counseling Centre is based.

A:Shri Karani Nagar Vikas Samiti is a registered society under Societies Act 1958 of Government of Rajasthan.
Major activities under taken by “Samiti” are –
- Destitute Children Home – Orphan abandoned and missing children found by police and public reared and provided facility for education and health. A primary school is run for them by Samiti.
- Family Counseling Centre – Postmarital and premarital counseling by experts.
- Diva Sangam – Day care centre for senior citizens, where a well equipped library has been established, lectures and discourse of learned persons are organized on each Saturday (10 A.M.-12.30 P.M.) at ‘Ashraya’ building.
- Physio Therapy Centre at “ Shraddha”. The Centre is fully equipped with latest equipments.
Q: What are the financial resources of Samiti ?
A: Mainly voluntary donations from citizens, and some of the projects are partially funded by Government and Social Welfare Board.?
Q: How a senior citizen can become a resident of Old Age Home “Shraddha” what are the terms and conditions ?
A: Any aged persons above 60 years of age having sound Physical & mental health bearing good moral character can become a resident. Application is scrutinized by a committee Deserted, neglected and destitute old persons are habitated free of any charge . Those who can afford payments are only charged for food and electricity. The accommodation is free on a twin share basis.
Q:Who can seek counseling from Family Counseling Centre ?
A:In case of any marital disorder, family crisis, including cases under domestic violence Act, concerned couples/family members can approach the Centre. For young marriageable girls and boys, premarital counseling is also provided, free of charge.
Q:What is the success rate of this Family Counseling Centre ?
A:The success rate of efforts by trained professional Counsellors is high. About 80% case are settled satisfactionly.
Q: How the orphan children are reared by Samiti and made self reliant ?
A: Samiti organizes schooling, cultural development, vocational training for these children to make them self reliant. Brilliant Children are sent for higher education. Some of these children have become Doctor, CA, Engineer, Photographer, Painter, Accountant, Computer expert etc.

A: Almost all the services are free except following :
A nominal maintenance charge is charged in Old Age Home from those persons who have regular income. Services for physiotherapy from persons other than our residents is concessionally charged
